Medicinal Therapy

Introduction: Ayurveda in Sanskrit means ‘science of life’. Ayurveda emphasizes a healthy and enlightened lifestyle. According to Ayurveda, every human being is a unique creation born from pure consciousness. It descends into 5 great elements which are fire, water, ether, earth and air. These five elements form the Tridosa (subtle energies) – Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Ayurveda has two main objectives – one is to maintain health and the second is to cure disease.

Panchkarma, as defined under Chikitsakarma, is the process of authentic and scientific pre, focal and post therapeutic procedures that switch the imbalanced doshas to their paritosh sthanam (particular location). The therapy is composed of 5 types of advanced treatment for the evacuation of the vitiated ‘dosha’ from the body. There are many sub-types of this therapy as well. These treatments are extremely helpful for alleviating deep rooted diseases and bring life-enhancing energy thereby increasing vitality, confidence and well-being.

On a standpoint of ongoing wellness, Panchakarma treatments are done any time to keep body immunity and metabolism healthy and to prevent ama(waste & toxins) from accumulating in the body. It detoxifies the body and thereby enhances, restores and maintains the essential natural balance of soul, mind and body. In other words, panchakarma addresses the root causes of disease by removing years of accumulated ama (along with excess vata, pitta, and/or kapha) and fine-tuning your agni.

Indications: The wrong diet, habits, and lifestyle, along with seasonal changes, repressed emotions, and stress factors can…change the balance of vata, pitta, and kapha… which affects agni, the gastric fire, and produces ama (toxins & waste). Symptoms such as chronic illnesses that allopathy hasn’t conquered, such as allergies, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraines, reproductive disorders, certain types of cancers, high blood pressure, imbalanced cholesterol and triglycerides, hardened arteries, tooth tartar, a coated tongue, joint pain, body odor, or excess mucus, fatigue, dullness, irritability etc…
